Hugh is a Scottish corporate/commercial lawyer, originally from Aberdeen, based in the Middle East for 17 years and with 30 years of experience in the international energy industry. He was appointed to the Global Scot business advisory network in May 2017.

HFI’s clients are principally backed by private equity firms.
Bridgehead Ventures International is focussed on promoting and delivering the Bridgehead Ventures Clusters business model which Hugh developed based on many years of client experiences and which is designed to allow SME companies to enter and expand successfully into the Middle East region.
Net Zero Legal Solutions is focussed on providing legal support to businesses with advanced technologies identified by the International Energy Agency as crucial to the achievement of the COP21 Paris Agreement climate goals.
Garron Point Community Ventures is focussed on driving and supporting community ventures in Scotland by taking advantage of new planning and community empowerment legislation.
Hugh was previously the Managing Partner of the Middle East office of the Houston-based law firm Andrews Kurth Kenyon (2013-2017), the founder and Managing Partner of Hugh Fraser International Legal Consultancy in the United Arab Emirates (2003-2013) and the former Group Head of Legal at John Wood Group PLC (1996-2003).
He is a founder member and director of Park Bridge Action Group which was established in April 2020 and which is focussed on community initiatives in the Crathes, Drumoak and Durris community in Aberdeenshire in Scotland where he was raised.
